10/23/2023 0 Comments Curse of the mummy movie![]() ![]() Very much a product of its post-1960s age when the company behind it, Hammer Films, were flailing around trying to find a new way of sustaining the long-term success that was rapidly crumbling away in their hands, it's an interesting little curio that’s well worth digging up for another look today. This is a strange and resolutely offbeat adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel The Jewel Of The Seven Stars – it's bloodier than most and occasionally harder to follow than a wall full of hieroglyphics. Well, not in the 'cloth-wrapped, lumbering guardian of the undead' sense of that term at any rate. ![]() ![]() PERHAPS the oddest thing about director Seth Holt’s 1971 film Blood From The Mummy’s Tomb is that it’s not really a 'mummy film' at all.
